Juhyeon Cho
Juhyeon Cho is Vice Minister for SMEs and Startups (MSS) in South Korea. He spent about 30 years of public service for supporting and promoting policies and activities on MSMEs in MSS.
In 1994, he entered public office with the Administrative Examination in MSS. He led various divisions related to venture investment, technology cooperation, and micro-enterprises. In 2013, he worked at the Office of President Secretary for SMEs. In addition, he served as Director General for HR Policy Planning, SME Growth Support Policy, and Smart Manufacturing Innovation Planning. He worked as Deputy Minister for Micro-Enterprise Policy during 2020-2022, and became Vice Minister of the MSS in May, 2022.
In recognition of his contribution to strengthening the competitiveness of small business owners and innovation of small and medium-sized venture companies over the past 25 years, he received the Hong Jo-geun Jeong Medal at the Government Innovation Merit Award in May 2021. He holds Ph. D. in Public Policy and Administration from the University of Delaware, a Master in Public Administration from Seoul National University and a BA in International Relations from Seoul National University.
