Misun Park

Associate Professor of Graduate School of International Agricultural Technology Seoul National University

Mrs. Mi Sun Park is an Associate Professor in the Major of International Agricultural Development and Cooperation at Graduate School of International Agricultural Technology, Seoul National University in the Republic of Korea.

She studied forest science (bachelor degree) and environmental education (master degree) at the Seoul National University, Republic of Korea. She gained a PhD in forest policy from University of Göttingen, Germany. Her research interests include governance/regime discourse and communication, policy strategies and instruments, policy integration and international cooperation in forest, agriculture and environment. She handled the issues of climate change, biodiversity, eco-innovation, agroforestry, urban forests and agriculture, bioeconomy etc.

Prof. Park actively works at the global academic society. As a Coordinating Lead Autor, she participated in writing the chapter on policy options of the thematic assessment, “Sustainable Use of Wild Species” from IPBES (Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services) from 2018 to 2022. She works as a coordinator of Research Group 9.03.04 Traditional Forest Knowledge and a deputy coordinator of Working Party 9.01.07 Forests and the Media from IUFRO (International Union of Forest Research Organizations) since 2019. She also works as a board member of the International Journal of Forest Research (Taylor & Francis, ISSN 1341-6979) and as an editor of the Trees, Forests and People (Elsevier, ISSN 2666-7193).

Prof. Park has experiences in carrying out projects in forestry, agriculture and biodiversity with experts from LAC including Uruguay, Paraguay, Brazil, Mexico etc.
